Got Teeth?

I DO!!! Ashlyn cut her first tooth last night sometime between 9:00pm and 12:00am. I'm really not normally so particular about the time but I checked when I fed her 9:00 and NO TOOTH and then around 12:00am I felt again and there was a little break in the gum and I could feel a few little ridges scraping my finger! Well we are on our way only ?? How many more to go?

Water Day!!!

Sadly enough Vacation Bible "SONFORCE KIDS" 2007 has come to an end. What a huge success this year has been! Thank you Bro Joseph and VBS Staff for all your hard work. I know the kids had a wonderful time! I have plenty of pictures to prove it! I can't imagine any better way to have ended the week than in a HUGE water fight! The pictures show how much fun the kids had. Thank you again Bro. Joseph for allowing them this opportunity! VBS 2007 was AWESOME!!!

The kids really had a blast I tried to capture their expressions in these pictures but they really don't do it justice. The video is quite funny! Every Move I Make!

Alias

Alayna strikes a pose!What a HAM!!!

Vacation Bible School goes Crazy!!!

Today was crazy hair day! I think that pretty much explains it all! We are having a wonderful week. I really feel like the adults enjoy the time to fellowship and be with each other as much as the kids do. Well maybe that's just me...anyway I always enjoy working at the church with my wonderful family. I have grown closer to many of them because of the time we've spent together laughing and working (of course WORKING HARD Bro Joseph and only pausing for a second or two at most for a little chuckle). Enjoy these crazy pictures of OUR kids!

On the Lighter Side of Things

What did one lady firefly say to the other lady firefly?
You Glow Girl, You Glow!

If you have 10 fish in an aquarium and 7 drown how many are left?

All of them, fish don't drown!

My Little Senoritas

Just a quick little snapshot of the girls before church last Wednesday. I told Alayna she was my little Senorita. She was a little unsure about the "buns" on the side of her head but it ended up I had to wait to wait til right before bedtime before she'd let me take them down.

Alayna...

This will be short and sweet no 100 picture slide shows or anything. lol Saturday evening Andrew was at the church preparing for Sunday and I was going to pray for a little bit. I had told Alayna of my plans and so she decided to pray with me. I was knelt at the chair and she was at the couch. As I began to pray I was saying "Lord, I thank you for the Holy Ghost, thank you for Calvary, for washing away all of my sins...." As soon as I got to this part I felt a little hand on my shoulder and she said "Come on Momma, Come on Momma!" she then bent her head over so she could see my face as I was praying. I got so tickled when I realized she was trying to pray me through to the Holy Ghost. It was sweet and a memory that will hopefully never fade in my mind.
I hope you all have a wonderful week and here's a lesson from Alayna stay FULL of the Holy Ghost!

Having Fun

Here's some of the videos I took at Jump for Joy. I didn't have time to get them on the other post before we had to leave so here they are all by themselves.

Look out!!! She's Almost Mobil!!!

Ashlyn is trying to crawl. I know it won't be long before she'll be up and about. They truly do grow up way too fast. I wish they would stay babies a little longer, and yet I can't wait for to talk and walk and become a little girl. I am trying to enjoy each and every day. I did enjoy Alayna but I have a better understanding now of how the baby becomes a little girl sooo quickly.

Jump for Joy!!!

Wow! What a fun place! Alayna, Ashlyn and I had gone to Jump for Joy when Andrew was out of town. We've been wanting to take him so today was the day! We had such a good time enjoying all the fun activities and each other. Days like this are often too far apart! We hope you enjoy these pictures only a fraction as much as we did while they were being taken!

Post Happy =)

OKay I am a little post happy it's just been busy and lots of things have happened in the mean time. Be sure to keep scrolling and make sure you see all the new entries!!!

Lord Teach Us to Pray

I apologize for the quality of the picture but the sound is worth the watch! Alayna was not putting on this is how she prays when we have family prayer. I know God hears and understands all the things she can't quite put into words yet.

Off to the Moon!

Well, my parents were in town for the dedication of Ashlyn. Monday for lunch we went out to eat and as we were leaving the restaurant Alayna was wanting to ride with them and she asked Grammy where she was going she replied "To the moon." Alayna then looked at Poppy and said "Where are you going?" He said "To the sun." She decided to go with Grammy to the moon. We were all actually headed to Sears. When we arrived Alayna was walking in with Grammy and when they had stepped inside Alayna looked at her and said "So this is what the moon looks like on the inside!" of course Mom got really tickled at Alayna's wit. Later when she told Dad about it he asked Alayna if she had gone to the moon she said "Well, you should know you went too, It was pretty nice wasn't it?" This kid keeps us on our toes. She is really a bringer of laughter and fun!

Lord, We Give Her Back to You

Sunday, July 8,2007 We gave Ashlyn back to the Lord! It was such a special day in our lives as was the day we gave Alayna back to God.
I can't explain the feeling that a parent feels when they are given a child! My husband and I both say it is almost like a spiritual experience. When we were awaiting Ashlyns arrival we wondered what it would be like because Alayna's birth had been so neat. Everyone who had more than one child assured us it would be as special! They were right. You feel such a duty to this innocent baby. One of the main thoughts I remember thinking in the moments after her birth were "If this baby goes to heaven it will depend alot upon Andrew and me. Wow you talk about responsibility. This weight of responsibility is much greater than whether or not we make the rent or provide the best for our girls. We have to get them to the other side.
With all of these things in mind, it tends to make their dedication very meaningful. We truly view it as giving them back to God, not just a ritual we go through. Not only was Ashlyn given back to God but a new commitment was made in Andrew and me to do the very best we can to see this little angel saved.
Both of our Dads participated in the service since Dad Elms had the major part in Alayna's Dedication He suggested that my Dad do Ashlyn's. Everything was perfect and lots of good instruction was given. Thank you to two of the greatest men in our lives for such a special day. Ashlyn, Daddy and Mommy do plan to dance on the streets of gold with you someday!!!

Girls on the Go!

We just got home from visiting Grandmomma. We had such a wonderful visit. My mom invited us to go with her to see her Mother in Kentucky! (Thanks Mom) We left Monday after Camp Meeting, Andrew drove us to Texarkana to meet my Mom. We arrived in Dawson Springs around 11:00pm Monday night. Grandmomma hadn't seen Ashlyn except in pictures, so this was a neat trip. We also made this trek when Alayna was 5 months to let Grandmom see her. Neat how things work out isn't it. Well we played Uno, caught fireflies, played Deal or No Deal a new DVD game, Blew bubbles, went shopping, ate Grandmom's good home cooking, and just enjoyed each others company! Of course Grandmomma thinks Ashlyn is just a doll and such a good baby, She even fussed at me a little for the time Ashlyn spent in her carry seat. I explained that she is content and doesn't mind just sitting, don't worry when she got a little fussy we got her out...immediately! Our visit flew by and we left to head home on Friday. We spent the night in Texarkana again and Andrew picked us up Saturday Morning. I am so glad we were able to make this trip. You realize how special family is the older you get! I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as we enjoyed making the memories! One such memory was a conversation that took place between Grandmomma and Alayna. Grandmom had gone out on the patio to watch Alayna ride her scooter. She began to ask Alayna about going to public school and whether or not she was excited about it, Alayna quickly replied "Fortunately I am not going to go to public school because my mom teaches me!" Well I don't think her mom will have the patience to teach her but we will see!
